Cecil Center South — Aviation Center of Excellence (ACE) offers a complete range of programs to prepare
students for a multitude of jobs in the aviation industry. America
is facing a serious industry shortage for aviation technicians,
managers, administrators, air traffic controllers and pilots. Projections show that employment
will have grown by 14 percent from 1998 to 2008. This is a great
time to start your training for a career in aviation, and this is a great place to begin.
FAR Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician
School
As a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
certified part 147 school, we will
train you to become an aviation technician and prepare you to take
the FAA exams leading to Airframe and Powerplant Certification.
Pilot Training
If taking to the air is for you then you will want to know more about our Professional Pilot Technology
program. With a contracted FAA part 141 Pilot School,
and Florida Community Colleges state of the art simulators
and ground school, you will be on your way to a career as a pilot.
Graduates earn an associates in science degree (A.S.) as well as their
FAA certifications and ratings for private and commercial pilot,
airplane single and multi-engine land, instrument, and either certified
flight instructor or aircraft transport pilot. The requirements
may be demanding but the rewards are great.
Aviation Maintenance Management
For those aviation technicians looking to
enhance their careers, the centers Aviation Maintenance Management
course is a good fit. This program leads to an associate in science
degree (A.S.), for those who already hold an FAA Airframe and Powerplant
certification, that will prepare you for entry level management
positions.
Aviation Operations
If you want a career in the fast growing
aviation industry in administration, air traffic control or business
management, this associate in science degree (A.S.) is for you.
FAA Airframe and Powerplant Prep Courses
Do you have previous aviation experience? See what FAA certification in airframe and powerplant mechanics can do for your earning power. Consider that technicians
earn an average of $20.16 per hour with certification but only
$15.78 without certification. Now, ITS easy and
convenient to take FAA test-preparation courses, and the tests
themselves, at Florida Community College. We are an FAA and Lasergrade approved test center.
All FAA testing is open to the community.

We’ll be offering a new air traffic controller training program at the Cecil Center South — Aviation Center of Excellence (ACE) in Fall 2008.
