What is the ACT?

The American College Testing (ACT) program is a national college entrance examination program. Florida State College at Jacksonville is an assessment site for ACT. The following ACT scores may be used to satisfy requirements for entering Florida State College at Jacksonville: reading (18), math (19), and English (17). Scores must be less than two years old. The following ACT scores, regardless of age, may be used to exempt the CLAST: reading (22), math (21), and writing (21).

How do I get my ACT scores evaluated by Florida State College at Jacksonville?

You may have requested that your ACT scores be submitted to Florida State College at Jacksonville when you took the assessment at your high school or other site. These scores are sent by ACT to Florida State College at Jacksonville. Contact your preferred campus to see if your scores have been received and posted for use in placement.

You may have an original copy of your ACT score report in your personal records. You may bring your scores to any campus assessment and certification center for evaluation if they are less than two years old. Finally, you may request that your scores be sent to Florida State College at Jacksonville from ACT by contacting ACT at 319.337.1313 or visiting ACTs online ASR site.

How do I register for the ACT?

Area residents may register online by visiting www.act.org. The basic cost of the assessment is $32 without the essay. The following registration test dates will be held at the Florida State College at Jacksonville Downtown Campus:
