Preventing Sexual Harassment Training Course
The College is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free of all
forms of discrimination, including sexual harassment. To that end, a new online training
course “Preventing Sexual Harassment” is now available to all employees of Florida
State College at Jacksonville. This online tool provides information every member of our college
community should know, understand and let guide their personal actions.
The interactive, easy-to-use online course defines sexual harassment in accordance
with the state and federal law as well as college policy. For your convenience, the
browser-based course can be used 24 hours a day on any desktop or laptop computer
and meets all federal and state accessibility standards. The course features:
- A pre-test to evaluate an employee’s current understanding of the issues.
- Course material that is current and informative.
- Opportunities throughout to revisit course material to imbed understanding.
- A mastery test at the end of the course with an opportunity to revisit key
components and retake the mastery test as needed.
When an employee has answered 80 percent of the questions correctly, a certificate of
completion will be issued and a copy will be placed in the individual’s personnel file.
All employees are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and full-time
and regular part-time employees are asked to complete the course and mastery
test by the end of the spring term (May, 2009). While the course can be completed
from any computer at any time, supervisors are encouraged to provide time at
work to full-time and regular part-time employees to participate.
This training is informative and an excellent reminder to all faculty, staff and students
that maintaining a safe and personally secure environment for everyone at the College
is the responsibility of everyone.
The Preventing Sexual Harassment training course can be accessed through FCCU,
Online Course FCCU 5055 (reference 303547), found in the Human Resources section
of the catalog.
