Learning Futures Group

Role

The Learning Futures Group is composed of representatives from the major areas that provide services to support learning at Florida Community College, along with faculty representation. This group facilitates the collaborative work of these major support units. It provides a forum for communication and exchange of ideas, identifies new and promising approaches to the applications of learning and motivation research/theory and technology to instruction and coordinates the development of long range planning for the facilitation of the learning process.

It is composed of a Steering Committee and the following standing committees: Committee on Teaching and Learning; Committee on Student Services and Learning; Committee on Professional Development and Learning and Committee on Learning Technologies Infrastructure. Each committee is co-chaired by two members of the Steering Committee and is composed of eight members representative of the College campuses. The Committee on Teaching and Learning is composed entirely of faculty members. All of the other committees are composed of faculty and staff. The Committee on Teaching & Learning is advisory to Organizational Learning Services and the Committee on Professional Development is advisory to Florida Community College University. The overall Learning Futures Group is advisory to the executive vice president for instruction and student services.
