
3 + 1 Programs
If you would like to take as many of your bachelors
degree courses at the low Florida State College at Jacksonville tuition rate
as possible, this type of agreement might be helpful to you.
A 3 + 1 agreement maximizes a student's
time at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Students who earn an
Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree can satisfy
the first two years of coursework associated with the university's
baccalaureate degree programs and will be recognized as having
achieved junior status. Twelve to 30 additional credits are is also completed at Florida State College at Jacksonville, so that
the student only completes the senior year (approximately 30
to 45 credit hours) at the university. The additional coursework can be completed at the Florida State College at Jacksonville tuition
rate. Typically the university accepts transfer credits
for all of the coursework, up to a maximum of 90 semester hours
toward fulfillment of university core requirements and toward
the university degree requirements.

If you are interested in transferring into
a specific major, first select the major and then choose the
college/university that offers your selected major. When
you click on the major, you will find out some basic information
about the requirements for transfer, including the coursework
and major prerequisites. Clicking on the college/university will
take you to the institution's web site.
If you would like to participate in the 3 + 1 program, please follow these steps:
- Meet with the designated Florida State College at Jacksonville advisor or counselor (see list above of those working with 3 + 1 programs)
- Review the Transfer Advising Sheet(s) (see below);
- Consult the designated Florida State College at Jacksonville advisor or counselor to determine when the 3 + 1 Program of Study Code (31XXX) and Major Code (6 digits) for the specific university should be added to your student record. (Generally we advise that this should be added as your primary program objective if you have already completed your associates degree. If you have not completed your associates degree yet, this should be added as your secondary program objective);
- Confirm the list of approved classes that the university would like you to take at Florida State College at Jacksonville (if the university has specified a list of courses for your major, you should find a list of those courses at the links below, but we recommend that you confirm that list with an advisor from the partner university);
- 6. Apply to the 3 + 1 partner institution (see list below) in the specific 3 + 1 major (the B.S., B.A., or BAE indicated below). The student should indicate on the application that they are pursuing the 3 + 1 articulation between Florida State College at Jacksonville and XX university; (if the student is applying to Nova Southeastern University, please contact Tami Beaty 904.245.8928 or tbeaty@nova.edu) at the local NSU student educational center to discuss the applications process and appropriate application timelines).
- After consulting with both university and your designated Florida State College at Jacksonville advisor, start registering, paying, and enrolling for Florida State College at Jacksonville classes. We recommend that you register 4-6 weeks prior to the start of the term at Florida State College at Jacksonville. You are responsible for paying for the courses prior to Florida State College at Jacksonville’s payment deadlines, see Florida State College at Jacksonville website.
- Send your transcript periodically to the university and contact your advisor there to make sure you are taking the correct courses each semester.

*Northcentral University does not offer standard Title IV financial aid. NCU offers students the option to participate in payment plans and assistance in seeking loans. Therefore students participating in the 3 + 1 program with Florida State College at Jacksonville and NCU would be responsible for paying for the additional semester hours at Florida State College at Jacksonville (beyond the associates degree).

Tips on transferring
to a college without an articulation agreement
Florida State College at Jacksonville is accredited by
the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) so many
