Environmental Education

Groups can chose a day of environmental education. Emphasis is placed on the New Wilderness Ethic, conservation and pollution control. Topic examples are as follows:

Bugs, Beasts and Serpents

Interactive program exploring the bugs, beasts and serpents indigenous to North Florida. This program can include water species as well. We have honeybee hives on the premises that can be included in the program.

Plants, Trees and Edibles

Interactive program identifying, studying and sampling of the plants, trees and edible plants found in our area. This program covers poisonous plants as well.

The Native American Way

Interactive program exploring the Native American cultures of North America. Emphasis is placed on the Cherokee, Navajo and Timucuan tribes. Students will experience fire building, Native American dance, clothing, cooking, transportation and socialization.

All of the programs are designed to last from four to five hours. Groups bring their own lunch, have it catered, or use our grill and/or kitchen to prepare lunch.
