Recruiting Information
Three FCCJ sophomores have signed with NAIA power the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO). Ashlyn Kimberly, Bree MacIntyre and Ashley Howard will take their skills west to help the Drovers get back to the NAIA world series. The following FCCJ sophomores will be graduating and signing softball scholarships to continue their educations and playing careers with the following schools:
- Ashlee Revell – Winthrop University
- Amanda deLancellotti – Wagner University
- Jana Owen – Flagler College
- Kasey Fagan – Brevard College
Also, freshman Amber Pederson has signed with Rollins College.

Brandi Isselhard has recently signed with FCCJ. The outfielder is from Swansea, Illinois, and she is a graduate of Belleville East High School where she earned All Conference and All Metro, (St. Louis) awards during her senior season. The honor roll student graduated with a 3.9 GPA as well. She played for former FSU player Natalie Peters and plays club ball for the Metro United Comets.
Clay High School’s Megan Gillies also signed with the team. Gillies, a four-year starter at shortstop and all-Clay County player, joins teammate Chrystal Chesser and returned Kat Cameron on the team. Also, Caitlyn Toth will make a fourth Blue Devil on the FCCJ team as the catcher/outfielder has committed to play with the Stars.

FCCJ has added another signee, Alona Personius from Lake Stevens High School in Lake Stevens, Wash. Personius, pictured in her club team Triple Threat uniform, is a speedy second baseman who also hits with power. She is a three time all–conference and Seattle all–area player, and was also named as a 2008 Top Prospect by Rivals.com, a national recruit site. Personius adds her name to a long list of players from the state of Washington who have started their college softball careers at FCCJ.

Two recent signees, Kursten Evanski and Brittany Borchert are pictured. Borchert is a power–hitting first baseman for Port St. Lucie, Westwood High School. She was her team’s MVP and was named all–conference one year and honorable mention all–conference as well. The versatile athlete was also the MVP on the volleyball and soccer teams where she was an all–state goalie. Evanski is a good athlete who brings speed and power to the table as well as the ability to play all four infield positions and the outfield. Evanski is from Trabucco Hills High School, Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.

FCCJ added Tara Richardson (right), a transfer from North Florida Community College (NFCC) to it’s signing class for 2008–09. Richardson graduated from Madison County High School and played shortstop for the Sentinels last year but due to NFCC dropping athletics had to find another school and selected FCCJ from several choices. Her athleticism, quickness and strong arm, along with the maturity of a year in college will make the honor roll student a welcome addition to the FCCJ softball program.
Hitting the ball is FCCJ signee Sarah Albino (below), a middle infielder/outfielder from Australia. Albino plays with the Torrens Valley Red Sox in the South Australia league.

Tori Landron celebrates senior night with her father and sister for Royal Palm Beach Community High School just before signing with FCCJ. Tori is a utility player who has played second base this season for RPBHS, but is adept at third and first as well due to her tremendously soft-hands. She also can play the outfield where her hands and strong arm are an asset. She is an honor roll student and Bright Futures scholar as well and will fit nicely into the FCCJ recruiting class.

Glynnis Gonzalez of North Florida Christian Academy signs with FCCJ with her parents, Henry and Rosemary, looking on. The outfielder was a team leader on the field and in the classroom where she was an honor roll stuent. She brings good speed, excellent defensive skills and a great work ethic to the FCCJ softball program.

Groveland Southlake third baseman Jessica Anderson signs her Letter of Intent with FCCJ coach Jami Lind present as well as her high school principal and high school coach, Leah Wilbanks. Anderson signed after going 2–3 in sectional play against future FCCJ pitcher Crystal Chesser and Clay High School in a game won 1–0 by Southlake. Chesser only gave up three hits but two were to her future teammate. This win propelled the honor roll student and her team into the State final four in Auburndale.

Head coach Jami Lind signs Jessica Byrd from Interlachen high school while high school Coach Whitehurst and the Byrd family look on. Jessica played shortstop and pitched for her team while leading them into the regional playoffs. She was not only a team leader in hits, runs, RBIs and stolen bases, but also will graduate second in her class.

Coach Jami Lind recently signed Clay High star pitcher and hitter Crystal Chesser as her high school Coach Matt Lewis looks on. Chesser has been a big part of Clay’s continued success as one of the area’s dominant teams. She currently has an ERA well under 1.0 and also is one of the top power hitters and RBI producers for the Blue Devils.

FCCJ coaches Jami Lind and Jay Redfern are present for the signing of West Nassau standout Jamie Brooker. Seated by Brooker are her parents with former coaches and the high school staff present in the background. Brooker is not only an honor roll student but was also an all-state pitcher and is a noted power hitter. She chose FCCJ after considering offers from several Division I schools. She led West Nassau to state final four appearances the last three years and is expected to be a top player in the state again this year. She’ll join former West Nassau teammate Kala Crosby on the Stars.

FCCJ head coach Jami Lind signed Menendez catcher Kortney Passmore on Feb. 19. Passmore, a 4.0+ honor student is also one of the top catchers in the northeast Florida area. Her powerful arm is well respected among opponents and she is expected to be a force among area high schools this year as she will team with her sister Destiny as the battery for an up and coming Menendez softball team. Coaches and administrators from Menendez were present along with her parents and sister.

Head coach Jami Lind and pitching coach Jay Redfern were present for the first signing in the 2008-09 class. Brittany Eppley from Bishop Kenny High School (BKHS) has signed with the Stars. Eppley is a pitcher, corner player who has been a three-year starter for BKHS, and was also a member of the state finalist volleyball team. The honor roll student also plays club ball with the Jacksonville Kaos. Also present were her family, friends, teammates, and new Kenny head coach Cathy Jester.
