2008-09 Season

Welcome to the 2008-09 volleyball season at Florida Community College at Jacksonville. We invite you to join us for all of our home matches at the FCCJ Sports Center this fall for exciting college volleyball. The Florida region is one of the most competitive in the nation and plays host to several top ranked teams and nationally recognized players.

In 2008 the team finished with a season record of 24-9 and for the fifteenth season in a row won the Mid-Florida Conference Championship. Allyson Goldbach was selected the Conference “Player of the Year” and several players made the All-Conference team and the All-Region Team.

This year we have eight returning sophomores and nine new freshmen players. It is indeed a pleasure for me to watch young players learn and mature as they meet the challenges of a new team and a new school. This is a great squad and we are expecting great things from them this season.

We are also happy to have our wonderful assistant coaches back this season. Jose Rivera, Robert Manosca and Adis Imamovic are back to assist the team as it strives to achieve its goals. Our staff, players and their families have made a commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as on the court. Thank you for your support and interest in our program.

2007-08 Team Results

The FCCJ Volleyball Team made it to the Atlantic District Finals by defeating Palm Beach Community College in three games on November 2 in the District Semi-Finals. The Stars played Miami Dade College on November 3 in the Atlantic District Finals and lost in three games.
