Sandra Willis
Dean of Student Success, Downtown Campus

Sandra Willis began her career at FCCJ in 1975 (FCCJ was known as Florida Junior College back then) as a clerk typist and a student. She received her associate in arts degree with high honors from FCCJ and continued her education at the University of North Florida receiving a bachelor of arts (cum laude) and a master’s degree in public administration. She is currently pursuing her doctorate at Nova Southeastern University in Higher Education Leadership with anticipated completion summer 2008.
As Dean of Student Success for Downtown Campus, Sandra supervises the departments of Assessment and Certification, Career Development Center, Cooperative Association of States for Scholarships (CASS), Counseling/Advising, Enrollment Services (which includes: records, registration, financial aid, membership ID card, scholarships and veteran services), Independent Living for the Adult Blind (ILAB), Minority Male Academic and Career Success (MMACS), Student Life and Leadership Development and Student Employment. She is dedicated to providing support services to all students and staff and is a member of the Downtown Campus leadership team which recently redesigned the Student Success Center.
Sandra’s professional affiliations include the Council of Student Affairs (CSA) and the Florida Association of Community Colleges (FACC). Sandra received the 2007 Trustees Award for community service. Her leadership/management tip is:
Respect and appreciate the staff that works with you every day. Keep your staff abreast of changes in the environment, listen to their suggestions, and consistently give them feedback.
