We raised $65,361, 90 percent of our goal!

Deerwood Center Annual Silent Auction and Raffle
Local businesses and artisans donated 70 items for this March 24 event that raised almost $500. Smoothie King was on hand giving out samples of smoothies and Bank of America gave out iPod accessories to people signing up for new accounts! Special thanks to the Deerwood student ambassadors and SGA officers for assisting in running the event and to all who gave so gernerously!

Deerwood Center Craft Fair
Twenty-five vendors participated in this March 10 event that raised almost $700. Additionally, each vendor generously donated an item for our March 24 Charity Silent Auction. The Deerwood student ambassadors and SGA officers ran the café during the event, serving coffee and cake. Special thanks to Fire House Subs (provided lunch for our vendors) and to our craft co-chairs, Professor Sandra Jordan and Lorna Pryor.

MCCS/MSB Kickoff a Huge Success -- Prize Winners!
Dr. Wallace officially kicked off the ceremony and revealed we had exceeded our monetary goal of $14,200 ($15,581 which was 112% of the goal). Special guests: Dick Kravitz, Community Heath Charities; Sheri Crizwell, Executive Director of North East Florida Diabetes organization; Anthony Sutton, Campaign Division Manager for the United Way; Naita Guine Simmons, Board Member of “The Sanctuary of 8th Street;” and Vicki Watkins, Executive Director of the same organization.

MCCS/MSB - Next Round of Exciting Prizes!
Who’s Eligible? The first 50 employees who have already turned in their pledges and the next additional 50 employees who turn in a pledge will be eligible for a drawing to win:
  • Two tickets to “Happy Days” at the Florida Times-Union Center, Feb. 24.
  • A Harry’s Seafood Restaurant $50 gift card

Turn in your completed form with your pledge to Human Resources, and receive a ticket to be entered in the drawing. Prizes will be awarded Friday, Feb. 20 at 10:30 a.m. (or when 50 pledges are received). You must have your completed pledge sheet in no later than Friday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m., to be eligible. Stay tuned, there will be other prize drawings throughout the campaign.
