FCCJ Student Art Guild presents preview screening of acclaimed PBS series: “Art 21: Art in the 21st Century”
The Student Art Guild at Florida Community College at Jacksonville will host a preview screening of “Ecology” from the fourth season premier of the PBS program “Art:21—Art in the Twenty-First Century.” The preview screening will be held Oct. 9 at the FCCJ Wilson Center Lakeside Room from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Special guest speaker will be Jonathan Christie, artist-in-residence at the Jacksonville University Glass Department. The screening is free and open to the public.
“Art:21” (with its fourth-season premiering on PBS Oct. 28) is the only prime-time national television series to focus exclusively on contemporary art and artists. Through in-depth profiles and interviews, the series reveals the inspiration, vision and techniques behind the creative work of some of today’s most accomplished artists. This event is part of Art:21 Access ‘07, an international celebration of contemporary art and creativity presenting more than 300 events in all 50 states, 25 countries, and on all seven continents. Through this extraordinary series, audiences all over the world will have the opportunity to experience the breadth and depth of 17 renowned contemporary artists living in the United States today.
