Courtyard Nights announces the Fall Schedule
The Florida Community College Courtyard Nights Series, in co-sponsorship with the NewsLeader and the Nassau County Record, begins its fall schedule on Friday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m., with Roger Hawk and the Dixie Angel Band. The group features country, gospel, impersonations, and comedy. Roger Hawk, formerly a guitarist for George Jones, and members Jeanie Scheff, Debby Spivey, Roy Allen, Mike Hendrix, and Jimmy Slade turn back time with tributes to Elvis, Patsy and Reba. The band members live in Callahan, Fernandina Beach, and South Georgia.
On Friday, October 12, Fernandina Beach guitarist and singer Early McCall will be featured. He performs soft rock and country with cover tunes from Jimmy Buffet, Eric Clapton, George Strait, and James Taylor to name a few. His fast flatpick style and slower finger-style picking makes him a popular draw at area restaurants.
Robin Braddock Kinsey, from Callahan, will perform country and gospel music on Friday, November 16. Robin has recently begun sharing her vocal talents with the public and has a wide variety of country and gospel sounds that she covers with her beautiful voice.
All performances are at the FCCJ Betty P. Cook Nassau Center, 76346 William Burgess Boulevard in Yulee. The family oriented events are from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., rain or shine, and are free including light refreshments.
The spring schedule is currently being developed. Courtyard Nights features local performers. Interested performers should contact Don Hughes at 904.548.4481.
A Courtyard Nights e-mail distribution list is in the process of being developed to promote upcoming performances. If you would like to be included, please send your e-mail to Don Hughes.
