The Don Brewer Learning Center currently has openings for students from as young as six weeks up to five years in age. Now under the leadership of Florida Community College at Jacksonville and operated by Chappell Child Development, the Brewer Center is focused on increasing the literacy, numerical ability and school-readiness skills of children, particularly those from low-income families.

All children are given breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Music and physical fitness resources are provided. Children age four have access to Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten.

Hours of operation are 6:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Costs are based on age and other factors, but childcare grants are available.
