Small Business Owner and Marketing Classes at the FCCJ Nassau Center
The Florida Community College Betty P. Cook Nassau Center and the Nassau County Economic Development Board are pleased to present two college credit classes designed to promote entrepreneurship and job creation in Nassau County. The classes will benefit current business owners and individuals who plan to start a new business. A Betty P. Cook tuition scholarship will cover the in-state tuition rate for one or both classes.
The Small Business Management Class examines and analyzes the managerial function of planning, organizing, staffing, direction and controlling as applied to the small business. Retailing, wholesaling, manufacturing and service-type business organizations will also be covered. This class will meet Monday nights from 5:30 to 8:45 p.m. beginning January 5 and is being taught by Mark Barber.
The Principles of Marketing class is an introduction to the process of planning and marketing programs for goods and services. Topics covered are marketing management and planning; environment for marketing strategies; market segmentation; market research; consumer behavior; product life cycles; pricing; advertising; sales distribution channels; and global marketing. This class will meet Thursday nights 6 to 9 p.m. beginning January 8 and is being taught by Jake Posey.
Students are responsible for purchasing the required textbooks. First time FCCJ students will be assessed an additional $15 membership fee.
