Career

1.

Career performance evaluation APM update

Dr. Arab said that the requested changes will be brought to Cabinet 11/10/09 for discussion.

2.

Internet access for employees—dial-up access discontinued

Gerald Orso said some employees needed the dial-up option in order to access e-mail, pay stub, etc. Dr. Wallace said the dial-up method was expensive and obsolete and had to be discontinued. He hoped that employees would be able to utilize their College resources while at work.

3.

Status of new employee ID cards and machines

This item will be carried-over until Mr. Bowers can provide an update.

4. State and College budget and one-time salary increase update

Dr. Wallace distributed and discussed two charts which indicated the status of recurring appropriations and appropriations based on enrollment. Enrollment at the College has increased 36% during the recession years, but funding for FTE has drastically declined. He enthusiastically acknowledged that career employees had produced unimaginable levels of efficiency, but that those levels were unsustainable. Dr. Wallace said he’s very concerned about the budget year-after-next because we will need tax revenues to replace the stimulus funds at that time. The Board will get the College’s mid-year budget allocation request in December. There is a possibility that there may be approval for a one-time lump sum distribution to salaries.
