Plumbing Technology (5654)

Skilled plumbers are needed in new construction, existing structures, and remodeling projects to install, repair, and service systems, piping, fixtures and appliances. Plumbers work in a variety of environments: private homes, businesses, public buildings, power plants, and water treatment plants.

You'll learn plumbing essentials — from valves and faucets to water supply and storm drains. The courses can help you enter the trade with confidence and a basic understanding of current plumbing technology. Job openings for plumbers, pipefitters, pipelayers, and related fields are projected to outnumber qualified workers. The majority of work in this field is new construction. Salaries vary depending on the level of responsibility and area of expertise. More specialized training and experience can lead to higher income. This program provides exit points for those who wish to specialize in a specific area. Students must complete courses required for each individual exit point.

Application
Students enrolled in this program may be required to enroll in basic skills training. This will be determined by their scores on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).
